Caruso Produce Wholesale Produce Facility

Caruso Produce is a 3rd generation, family-owned Oregon produce wholesaler. Since their start in 1944, the business has grown exponentially, from a humble local supplier, to an impressive operation that had far outpaced their space. We helped them relocate, secure property for development, and build a new 90,000 sq ft facility.

We secured a perfect spot for the new building on 10.5 acres in Canby, Oregon. Like many property purchases, this was one was unique, and involved a special request from the property sellers, to preserve some of the area for their own maintenance. To meet this need, we obtained special permits from the city of Canby that allowed us to reconfigure the property shape, to extending 1000 feet of city street and water line.

A Beautifully Efficient Hub for Growth

The new facility is massive at 90,000 sf. It is designed to accommodate both warehouse and office, including stand-alone banana and avocado ripening rooms. We incorporated high-speed doors in the design to separate refrigerated areas from the semi heated storage, allowing maximum efficiency and ease of movement between areas.

The office spaces are perfectly separated from the warehouse areas. Beautifully designed interiors combine comfortable meeting spaces, with private work areas.

Like many larger companies, loading and unloading efficiency is an important key to Caruso’s smooth operation. We helped to design and implement their 24 loading docks with state-of-the-art dock levelers and shelters, with four additional truck entrances.
